The featherweight fighter Bryce Mitchell has agreed to step in on short notice for a bout against Josh Emmett at UFC 296 on December 17 in Las Vegas. Mitchell has replaced Giga Chikadze, who pulled out of the originally scheduled bout after suffering a groin injury in training earlier in the week. Emmett will be looking to make a comeback after two consecutive losses following a five-fight winning streak. “CC0” suffered a loss to Yair Rodriguez for the interim Featherweight title at UFC 284 in February and then another loss to Ilya Topuria in June. Josh’s MMA record is 18 wins and 4 losses, of which six wins were via knockout.
Mitchell is coming off a notable win
If we talk about Mitchell, he has an impressive MMA record of 16 wins and one loss. That one loss came against Ilia Topuria last year. “Thug Nasty” is entering his upcoming bout against Josh Emmett following a remarkable unanimous decision win over Dan Ige in September. Mitchell is an amazing fighter who is especially known as a submission artist in the featherweight division.

UFC 296 is stacked with exciting matchups
UFC 296 is shaping up to be an exciting event with two highly anticipated championship bouts. In the welterweight division, reigning champion Leon Edwards will defend his title against former interim champion Colby Covington. In addition, the flyweight title will be on the line and Alexandre Pantoja will be defending it against Brandon Royval. Particularly, former two-time champion Brandon Moreno is set to serve as a backup, adding a layer of potential replacement in the flyweight championship match.
