Bret Hart is one of the greatest wrestling superstars in WWE history and is also the only wrestler who had the guts to punch Vince McMahon. The former WWE chairman cheated Hart in his last match in WWE. The untold thing is that “The Hitman” was betrayed by Vince McMahon in his final match in the company, which took place against Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series in 1997 in Montreal, Canada. Hart was the WWE champion at the time, and he was leaving for WCW. Vince wanted him to drop the title to Shawn. Hart rejected this idea and Vince betrayed him in Montreal.
The 2006 Screwjob was all Vince’s plan
Hart was told that the match had to end via disqualification and that he would drop the title or relinquish it at a later date. However, Vince had some other plans in his mind, which he told HBK and referee Earl Hebner. During the match, when Michaels attempted a submission hold on Hart, the referee called the bell, even though “The Hearthrob” didn’t tap out. Michaels was declared the new WWE Champion, while referee Ebner left the ring in fear for his life. This was all part of Vince’s plan and Michael and Triple H were aware of it. Hart was very angry with McMahon and he spat on him while Vince was standing outside the ring. When McMahon locked himself in his room, Bret Hart barged inside the room and physically attacked the former chairman.
There were many people around then, and yet Hart, who was extremely disappointed and full of rage, pounced on Vince McMahon. Speaking in the recently released Netflix documentary Mr. McMahon, Bret Hart talked about hitting McMahon.
Hart still holds a grudge against the former WWE chairman
“It was Vince and me, came at each other, and we actually tied up like a wrestling match. As soon as we held each other, everybody got ready to pounce on me. I remember going; the only way I can get a shot in—one shot, maybe—is an uppercut and I came right up between Vince’s arms and it was like, You know when you hit the bell, when the thing goes up,” said Hart.

He further added, “He was out cold like a starfish. It was probably the best thing I ever did. He deserved every bit of it.” “The Hitman” has always maintained this grudge against Vince McMahon since that screwjob. Even though he appeared in WWE a decade after that 2006 incident, Hart has never said anything good about Vince McMahon since that day.
