The Boxing legend had an illustrious career
Roy Jones Jr. is a boxing legend who has won championships in several weight divisions, from lightweight to heavyweight. RJ secured 66 wins, of which 47 came by knockout. Prior to this, Roy Jones also fought Mike Tyson in a highly anticipated exhibition match on November 28, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. That fight marked Tyson’s return to the boxing ring after a 15-year retirement and RJ’s great athleticism at the age of 51.
The bout generated enormous interest and over 1.6 million pay-per-view buys, generating over $80 million in revenue. Despite the match being exhibition, both fighters displayed great athleticism and fighting intent, showcasing Mike’s strong power punches and Captain Hook’s nimble footwork with defensive skills. The fight ended in a controversial draw that left fans debating over the result. However, Boxing fans were definitely happy to see the two boxing veterans back in the ring after a long time.
