Bologna vs Lazio: Preview
Bologna form analysis
Bologna’s recent run of games has showcased an attack with real potency, even if defensive issues remain. They started with a gritty goalless away draw at Monza despite intense pressure. Building on this, Bologna then secured an excellent 3-0 home win over Empoli thanks to a perfect hat-trick from the in-form Orsolini. However, defensive problems surfaced against Inter Milan as they drew a thriller 2-2 at home – twice equalizing through Orsolini’s penalty and Zirkzee but afforded the visitors too many chances.
Bologna returned to winning ways with a hard fought 2-1 home success against Frosinone in the cup, with Ferguson and De Silvestri on target in a battling performance. Most recently they held on for a 1-1 away draw at Sassuolo, going ahead early through Zirkzee before conceding to share the points. Overall, Bologna carry real attacking threat through Orsolini and Arnautovic but must improve defensively.
Lazio form analysis
Lazio’s recent run of games has showcased an exciting attack capable of outscoring opponents, even if defensive issues remain. They started with an excellent 2-0 home win over Torino thanks to second half goals from Vecino and Zaccagni. However, problems at the back were evident as they lost 0-2 away at AC Milan, comfortably swept aside after a tight first half. Lazio’s attacking talents came to the fore next game though, edging past Atalanta in a 3-2 thriller. With Castellanos and Vecino netting after De Ketelaere’s own goal.
They impressed again offensively in a 0-2 away win at Sassuolo. With clinical strikes from Felipe Anderson and Luis Alberto earning the points. Most recently, Lazio’s resilience shone through as they ground out a dramatic late 1-0 home win over Fiorentina courtesy of an Immobile penalty. Overall, Lazio carry real threat going forward but must improve defensively if they are to sustain a top 4 push this season.
