UFC President Dana White always speaks highly of his new project, Power Slap. But it seems not everyone likes it. Recently, during a podcast with the Nelk Boys, Bob Menery didn’t hold back as he criticized Power Slap directly in front of White. He called the sport boring and repetitive. Now the clip from the episode has gone viral, where Dana and Bob can be seen debating about the sport.

During an episode of ‘Full Send Podcast’ with the Nelk Boys, Dana White confidently stated that Power Slap is going to be bigger than the UFC. “I said this before and I will say it again, it’s going to be bigger than the UFC. I said the UFC would be bigger than boxing,” said White.
The UFC CEO seemed quite confident about his prediction for Power Slap, but Bob Menery couldn’t agree and was quick to counterback. “An average person turns the TV on to watch Power Slap. I watch match one, it’s the same. I watch match two, it’s the same. I watch the third match, it’s the same. Someone hits someone on the face and they’re done,” said Menery.
Menery clearly stated the sport lacks variety and excitement. According to him, Power Slap is predictable, with every match following the same formula, as whenever someone gets slapped, they are either standing or are knocked unconscious. White was quick to reply to Menery’s criticism. He pointed to Power Slap’s early success as proof that the sport is on a good track. He claimed that Power Slap has more sponsors than the UFC had in its seven years. Dana considers the growing number of sponsors as a sign that Power Slap is headed for great success despite skepticism.
Joe Rogan about Dana White’s Power Slap
Joe Rogan also recently shared his thoughts on the Power Slap during the JRE MMA Show. He said, “I wouldn’t do it. I’m fully in support of anybody doing whatever the f**k they want to do.” Rogan drew the parallels with other high-risk sports like bull riding and BMX. However, despite his doubts, he acknowledged the draw of slap fighting. Rogan admitted that he is one of those idiots who watch those clips of the sport. “They get slapped unconscious. Just a slap. They are ready for it. They are like professional slappers. I watch those f***ing clips,” said Rogan.
