Whenever an MMA fighter wins a fight, they celebrate in different ways, but some celebrations also land them in trouble. This is what happened with BKFC fighter Tai Emery. Although her unique post-fight celebration caught the attention of fans, she had to promise Conor McGregor that she would not do it again. It all started when Emery made her BKFC debut in Thailand in 2022. She scored a stunning knockout win against Rung-Arun Khunchai.
After knocking out Khunchai within 2 minutes, Emery ran towards the ropes and pulled up her top while facing the audience. This was an unexpected show for the crowd and this move soon went viral and reached the ears of BKFC authority. Thus, when the Australian fighter was selected for a fight in Japan at the Super Rizin 3 PPV, Emery had to convince BKFC owners Conor McGregor and David Feldman that she would not repeat her naughty antics.
Tai Emery’s promise to BKFC owners
During an interview with MMA Mania, Emery said, “100 percent… In every single email, in every single phone call from David Feldman. I literally had to learn how to say, ‘No, I promised David Feldman and Conor McGregor that I wouldn’t flash and I would not be naughty.”
Emery promising Conor McGregor not to do anything controversial definitely sounds ironic. “The Notorious” himself has a history of causing trouble to the MMA fraternity for his controversial statements. A few weeks ago, when Donald Trump called Khabib Nurmagomedov his favorite UFC fighter, the Irishman got offended because he has had a huge rivalry with “The Eagle.” McGregor claimed that this comment by Trump is a campaign-ending decision. Currently, the former UFC champion is also embroiled in another controversy related to his return to the Octagon.

McGregor might make his UFC return soon
McGregor’s last appearance in the UFC octagon was in 2021, where he suffered a severe leg injury after getting defeated by Dustin Piorier. The “Mystic Mac” was set to return at UFC 303, but a pinky toe injury forced him to pull out of the fight. However, recent hints from UFC CEO Dana White reveals that McGregor’s return could come soon.
