Former WWE Champion Big E Langston has been on a hiatus from wrestling since March 2022 after suffering a severe neck injury on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Despite being out of the ring for two years, the New Day member has remained active, making numerous media appearances and providing analysis on the WWE Countdown and Kickoff shows before and after premium live events. Now it appears Big E is finally positive about a potential in-ring return.
Big E is positive about his comeback
During an interview with Sports Talk Philly’s Kyle Odegard, Big E recently shared that his upcoming neck scans scheduled within the next three to six months will be crucial in determining if he can return to in-ring action.
“I’m just taking each day as it comes. I know it sounds cliche, but I’ll get scans again in the next 3-6 months, and if they look great and the doctors say it’s healthy for me to go back, then we’ll sit down and talk about it,” said Big E.
His recovery has been slow and filled with questions and doubts. Big E is said to be positive about the future. He has always said he is grateful for whatever comes of his injuries and has indicated he is excited to pursue other opportunities outside of wrestling. This is the first time he has appeared excited and hopeful about wanting to return to the ring if cleared by doctors. Big E stated that positive scans would put him in a position where he would be ready to go all out if he gets the green signal.
His return will make things interesting
Big E’s potential return seems interesting considering the tension between his New Day teammates Kofi Kingston and Xavior Woods on Raw. Some fans speculated that Big E could make a surprise return to television to settle the growing issues between the two. This doesn’t necessarily mean he will get physically involved, but if he is feeling well, he could do more than just talk from the announce table. As the wrestling community awaits the results of Big E’s upcoming scan, the possibility of him returning to the ring adds another layer of excitement for fans who have missed his enthusiastic personality so much. If he is incorporated into the Woods and Kingston storyline, it would be a fun site for fans.
