WWE Superstar Big E has not wrestled a single match in two years. He fell on his head at ringside while taking a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland, which resulted in breaking his neck. The former WWE champion underwent two-year neck scans to check progress and updated fans on what the doctors told him, that he has still not been cleared to return to the ring.
Big E posted news about his latest scan on social media over the weekend and explained what it could potentially mean for his future in the wrestling industry. “Two year neck scans are in. Things are unchanged. My C1 fibroid has healed but no new bone has been formed. I am not medically cleared and frankly, I may never be cleared.
He won’t make a surprise return soon
There have been no changes in the New Day’s members’ injuries, which means he won’t be making any surprise comebacks anytime soon, and there is a possibility he may never wrestle again. Although they were not sidelined by similar injuries, former WWE superstars like Saraya and Adam Copeland are giving hope that one day something will change for Big E and he might be able to step in the ring again, even if that time is far off.
Big E is leading a healthy life
Despite the fact that he potentially might never wrestle again, the good news is that Big E is not letting the injury deter him. In his post, the WWE star concluded by saying that he is pain free and grateful to be healthy, even though his neck has not healed enough for him to wrestle again. A serious injury like Big E’s could have even resulted in paralysis, so his being able to walk around and live a normal life, even if that life doesn’t involve wrestling, is truly a blessing.

Big E is also still working with WWE, even though he can’t show off his wrestling skills in the ring. He was present throughout WrestleMania weekend and provided analysis during the Kick-Off Show on both nights. The former champion also coupled the bad news about his neck with good news about his personal life. Big E revealed that he is in a relationship with WWE superstar Mia Yim’s sister, Chris Yim. Even if he doesn’t step inside the wrestling ring again, Big E will still lead a healthy life and will continue to work with the company by taking on a different role.
