Best Barcelona Players in Pre-Season. Barcelona is now going through some changes. Numerous players have left the club as a result of the past board’s mismanagement, including seasoned pros like Busquets, Piqué, and Messi who left because of their financial situation.
The team strives to remain competitive in both Spanish La Liga and Europe. In addition to promoting some players to the first team, they were able to sign a few players. Anxiety is growing to see how well the team will live up to supporters’ expectations given the abundance of young talent in the roster.
Head coach Xavi Hernandez will learn about players who may be capable of having a fantastic season from the ongoing preseason. We have put up a list of four players who have stood out for the Catalan club during the current preseason tour, though.
#1 Abde Ezzalzouli
Abde had a successful season while on loan at Osasuna last year, contributing two assists in addition to four goals. He continued in that vein at the under-23 Africa Cup of Nations, when he was instrumental in helping Morocco win the tournament. With three goals, he was among the competition’s leading goal scorers.
According to rumors, Xavi really likes him and would prefer if he stayed in Barcelona this summer. Although Real Betis and the Morocco international have previously agreed to his personal terms, recent events involving Ousmane Dembélé’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain may make the club decide to keep him.
He displayed some of his talents and what he is capable of achieving against Arsenal. He can wreak havoc at the left-wing position thanks to his lethal pace and superb ball abilities. Lewandowski’s goal against Arsenal was made possible by the opening opportunity that Abde’s great run and cross produced.
#2 Ferran Torres
At the beginning of the 2022 winter transfer window, Ferran Torres joined Barcelona. He made a great initial impression by scoring goals that were essential for Blaugrana.
The Spanish international’s performance last season was mainly lackluster, but he appears desperate to improve this year.
Ferran Torres has been working very hard recently to rebuild his confidence. We all know what he is capable of when in top form. This preseason, Ferran Torres has displayed impressive play, scoring goals against Real Madrid and Arsenal.
#3 Frenkie de Jong
De Jong had a fantastic season last year, but he has kept raising the bar and has been outstanding for Barcelona in the preseason.
The Netherlands international first had trouble, but head coach Xavi has helped him gain confidence. He has thus far proven to be superb at what he does and enjoys a free role at the base of the midfield.
He had a 92% pass accuracy against Real Madrid, winning duels and creating opportunities. One of the things Barca learned from the game against Arsenal was how well he played.
#4 Alejandro Balde
Balde, who emerged as La Masia’s breakout star last season, has maintained his excellent form with the senior club. Balde is possibly Barca’s best player thus far in the preseason. His movement on the left side of the field has been essential both defensively and offensively.
The youthful Spanish left-back, who last season dethroned club great Jordi Alba, is now an indisputable starter in Barcelona’s starting 11. The adolescent has a lot of promise, and based on what we have seen in preseason play thus far, this might be a pretty successful season for him.
