Former WWE superstar Batista has recently made a claim that there is a wrestler in WWE who has a lot of acting potential and he would like to see a lot more from him. The superstar is none other than CM Punk. Recently, in an interview with “BuzzFeed,” the wrestler turned actor was asked which WWE superstar he thinks could become a star if given the chance. While it was believed that his answer would be Drew McIntyre, “The Animal” instead named McIntyre’s big rival CM Punk.
Batista wants to work with CM Punk
“I don’t know if he hasn’t pursued it as much as he would like to, because he is still very much in professional wrestling, but it’s CM Punk, Phil Brooks,” said Batista. The former WWE superstar stated that Punk’s potential in acting is limitless and he would like to see more from him in acting. Batista also expressed his desire to work with Punk because he thinks that the Chicago native has a passion for acting. However, “The Animal” also stated that he thinks Punk’s heart is still in professional wrestling and until he is able to let that go a little bit, he’ll never be able to fully commit himself to acting.
The Cookie Master is currently focused on wrestling
CM Punk has appeared in four films in his career, including one in which he lent his voice: Queens of the Ring, The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age SmackDown, Girl on the Third Floor and Rabid. The Second City Saint’s best-known acting role was in two seasons of the wrestling series “Heels,” where he played the role of Ricky Rabies. However, even after being away from WWE for almost a decade, Punk has not made acting his full-time profession and instead stuck to his wrestling career. But there is a possibility that Punk takes out time for a movie or two if he wants. Currently, he is more focused on his WWE career.

Punk is currently 45 years old and doesn’t have much left for his in-ring wrestling career. He will have to hang up his boots on his WWE career sooner or later. After that, he can think about acting in Hollywood. Currently, CM Punk is involved in a storyline with Drew McIntyre and the two have been battling each other since the last three months. Now the two rivals are set to face each other at Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match on October 5, 2024.
