Barcelona vs Osasuna: Preview
Barcelona form analysis
FC Barcelona have shown inconsistent form over their past five La Liga matches. On 4th December, they grinded out a narrow 1-0 home win over Atlético Madrid thanks to João Félix’s 28th minute goal. However, their form dipped dramatically on 11th December as they suffered a disappointing 2-4 home loss to Girona, squandering the lead twice despite goals from Lewandowski and Gündoğan. They stopped the rot with a 1-1 away draw against Valencia on 17th December, going ahead through João Félix before conceding to Guillamón.
Barcelona returned to winning ways on 20th December with a close 3-2 home victory over Almeria, just about holding on after leading twice from goals by Raphinha, Roberto and Roberto again. Most recently, on 5th January, Barcelona earned an important 1-2 away win at Las Palmas. Overturning El Haddadi’s early goal through Torres and a late Gündoğan penalty to grab the points. Overall, Barcelona have struggled for consistent results and defensive stability lately, conceding at least once in their last 5 games. Tightening up defensively could help stabilize their form as they push for the title.
Osasuna form analysis
Osasuna have shown inconsistent form in their past five La Liga matches. On 3rd December, they were held at home by Real Sociedad in a 1-1 draw, despite going ahead early through Moi Gómez before conceding to Sadiq. Their form dipped on 10th December as they were pegged back in a 1-1 away draw at Cádiz, going behind early before Budimir’s 70th minute penalty rescued a point. Osasuna returned to winning ways on 16th December with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Rayo Vallecano. Thanks to Raúl García’s last gasp winner.
However, inconsistent results continued on 22nd December as they suffered a disappointing 2-3 away loss to Mallorca, overturning an early concession before collapsing to three unanswered goals despite García grabbing a late consolation. Most recently, on 4th January Osasuna got back on track with an important 1-0 home win against Almería. Courtesy of Budimir’s 27th minute strike. Overall, Osasuna have struggled for consistent results lately and their defensive issues are a real concern having conceded at least once in their past 5 games. Shoring up defensively could help stabilize their form as they push for European qualification.
