The fact that Bangladesh’s all-around player, Shakib Al Hasan, won the general elections and was elected to the parliament demonstrated how popular he is in his native country. A Dhaka Tribune report claims that the left-handed batter, who was standing for election as the town of Magura’s representative, received an incredible 1,85,388 votes in the favour of this Bangladesh Cricketer.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was betting on Shakib Al Hasan to win the elections handily. She compared it to striking a six and wished him luck on his campaign. She stated, “You don’t have to give a speech. You have the ability to take wickets with the ball and smash sixes. Just scored a six in the election once more.”
Veteran Bangladesh Cricketer new win:
With an easy victory in the election, Hasina’s party, the Awami League, now holds 223 seats in the national parliament. They are now able to reestablish government as a result. When Shakib Al Hasan was running for office, AFP asked him if he intended to play cricket again or if the reason for his brief hiatus was simply the elections.
The all-rounder said he never thought about quitting international cricket. Giving the impression that he was unimpressed with the question while providing the answer. “Did I retire? Where did you get this question if I haven’t retired?” he asked.
Any role that needs to be filled on the pitch can be filled by Shakib. He is a fantastic fielder who can easily trick batters and score a tonne of runs. After weeks of controversy involving Tamim Iqbal and Shakib, it was Shakib who captained Bangladesh in the 2023 World Cup after the latter was declared injured.
Bangladesh went through a terrible World Cup because Shakib was unable to replicate his incredible performance from the previous edition. They finished in eighth place in the league phase table, having only lost to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
Shakib Al Hasan slaps a fan:
Recently, the veteran Bangladeshi all-round player Shakib Al Hasan is making headlines again after hitting someone at a party. Regretfully for him, the entire incident was captured on camera, and the footage has been widely shared on social media. Shakib is said to have gone to the polls during the voting process to personally oversee it. Many in the area were interested in Shakib because he is a well-known figure in the country.
Though the precise timing of the video is unknown, it is believed that Shakib had gone to observe the proceedings in one of the booths while he was vying for a seat in the parliamentary elections. A considerable number of people flocked to the location as soon as word of the star all-rounder’s arrival spread, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.
A huge crowd of supporters surrounded Shakib as chaos broke out as they poured into the stadium to see the all-around player. One of them extended an arm to grab Shakib, which infuriated him. The video of the all-rounder slapping the victim went viral on social media.
