Bangladesh Women would be disappointed with their failure in the second ODI which provided Women in Blue an opportunity to level the series. The major drawback for Bangladesh Women is their fragile batting attack. Apart from Fargana Hogue none of their batters could return with runs. She is also the highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs & will aim to continue her momentum in the decider ODI as well. Their top order comprising Nigar Sultana & Ritu Moni should return with crucial runs in the top order & provide their team with a good start.
In the bowling department, Marufa Akter has done a stunning job by scalping five wickets in two fixtures. And would be their biggest bet in the bowling department. In the spin attack, Rabeya Khan will lead their spin attack along with Nahida Akter and Sultana Khatun. In their previous clash, the dup of Rabeya & Marufa failed to bowl on good lengths which was a bonus for India Women. The bowling attack lacked discipline & thus was smashed for huge runs. Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team is high on confidence & would be eager to display an all-round performance to clinch the series which is leveled at 1-1. The major concern for India Women is that the key players of their batting lineup are not on scoring terms. The opening pair of Smriti Mandhana & Priya Punia are not in astute form & will aim to get back to their old form in the crucial fixture. Mandhana who got a good start failed to convert it into a big score & ended up giving away her wicket. It was only the efforts of Harmnapreet Kaur & Jemimah Rodrigues in the middle order that helped India to draw a win & level the series by 1-1. The duo scored half-centuries each & helped the visitors to post a competitive target on board. The presence of Harleen & Deepti adds more depth to their batting order.
In the bowling department, Rodrigues starred by sclaping four wickets for just 3 runs. She would continue to be their wrecker-in-chief in the decider ODI. But the all-rounder would need support from Meghna Singh & Amanjot Kaur who failed to bowl on decent lengths in the previous clash. Devika Vaidya could provide Rodrigues with a helping hand. She was the one who displayed an on-point bowling attack in the last fixture & returned with three scalps to make victory possible for India. Deepti Sharma could prove an able ally in the spin department.
In all, if India Women managed to maintain a balance with both bat & ball then no one can stop them from clinching the series.
