Augsburg vs Heidenheim: Preview
Augsburg form analysis
Fuggerstädter will head into this fixture off the back of a pretty good run of games. Their February started with an away fixture against Bochum. The visitors nearly lost the game after trailing for about an hour. However, Demirović‘s late penalty goal rescued a point for his club. Following this they faced Leipzig at home and gained the lead through Tietz. Nevertheless, the side conceded twice to go behind. Demirović stepped up again and found yet another equalizer in the contest that ended 2-2.
Their only loss in this set of games came against Mainz. Van de Berg scored the only goal of the game, in which the visitors were reduced to ten men late in the game. They then hosted Freiburg, who scored early. However, the home team came to take all three points with two late goals. Uduokhai and Engels were the ones who scored that evening. Their biggest win in recent times came against Darmstadt away from home as they won 0-6. Jensen and Vargas got on the scoresheet, while Tietz and Demirović got a brace each.
Heidenheim form analysis
Heidenheim have had a poor run of games since February. Especially, when compared to their performances in December and January. They did well to hold Dortmund to a goalless draw, which was their 4th draw in a row. They got all three points in their trip to Werder Bremen, in a 1-2 win. Maloney and Beste chipped in with early goals. Bayer Leverkusen were their next opponents at home. Despite Kleindienst’s late goal the club couldn’t get any points as they lost 1-2.
Dovedan’s goal against Union Berlin in the 3rd minute created a great start. However, they went behind at the end of the first half. Beste was able to score and get a point in the process in the 71st minute. Their most recent game ended in a loss at home against Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite the goal from Pieringer, the club lost 1-2.
