Asian Games 2023: Shooters Win First Gold For India
Rudrankksh, Divyansh, and Aishwary all got scores of 104.8 in the first round, while the Indian shooters only managed 104.1. The three quickly found their form again, and they performed better in the next series. The squad broke the world record by the time the sixth series began, with an astounding total of 1893.7 points.
Rudrankksh, one of the Indian shooters, came up as the best shooter, finishing third in the qualification round with a strong score of 632.5 points. With a score of 631.6, Aishwarya came in fifth place. With a final score of 629.6, Divyansh qualified for the final round but was disqualified from the individual medal competition since only two shooters from the National Olympic Committee (NOC) could make it there. At 9 AM IST, Indian shooters Rudrankksh and Aishwarya will now contend for the three podium spots individually.
The Indian team finished the first day, which was the first official day of the Asian Games 2023, with an impressive total of five medals—three silver and two bronze—showcasing their strength in a variety of sports. India earned its first medal of the current Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games, a silver in shooting, earlier in the women’s 10m air rifle team competition, with Ashi Chouksey, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ramita Jindal competing. One of the most memorable events of the games will surely be the Men’s 10m Air Rifle team’s record-breaking performance.
