AS vs BH Teams Preview
Adelaide Strikers Preview
BBL 13 was a nightmare for the Strikers as they could win just five out of 14 matches & failed to qualify for the knockouts. Despite an outstanding performance from their top-order batter Matt Short, they failed to make it to the Playoffs.
Chris Lynn was the game-changer for the team as he along with Short stitched an opening stand exceeding 72 runs in 400 overs. The Strikers will be excited with the inclusion of left-handed batter D’arcy Short who will look to recapture their performance in the shades of Strikers. Short recognized with the player of the match awards in both BBL 7 & BBL 8 while playing for Hurricanes. He will aim to deliver & perform well in this fixture for the Strikers. In the bowling order, they will be dependent on the likes of Wes Agar, who took 18 wickets at an average of 20.27. In the absence of star bowler Rashid Khan, Agar will have a job on his hands this time. Ben Manenti and Cameron Boyce are the senior spinners and are expected to play an important role.
Adelaide Strikers Predicted Playing XI:
Alex Carey (wk), Matthew Short, Chris Lynn, D’Arcy Short, Adam Hose, Harry Nielsen, James Bazley, Cameron Boyce, Wes Agar, Ben Manenti, Jamie Overton
Brisbane Heat Preview
After a poor loss in the BBL 12, Brisbane Heat turned the tide with a flawless performance in the season-opening clash against Stars by registering a massive 103-run win. Munro has smashed an unbeaten 99 runs with Heat defeating Stars despite poor performances from injured Glenn Maxwell.
Last year, Munro Khawaja, Renshaw, Peirson, and Brown scored over 200 runs to guide Heat to a stunning total. Peirson did that with a striking rate of 135 or above painting a different picture of Heat’s formidable performance during the initial stages of the league.
There were regrets for not being able to bring back back Sam Hain but the presence of Billings who led Invincibles to a massive title win in the T20 Blast with Kent is more than enough.
In the bowling order, Neser had led the bowling attack scalping the second most wickets in BBL 12 with an impressive tally of 26 wickets. Spencer on the other hand has stood out scalping nine wickets in BBL 12. He will further aim to perform well for the Heat in this season of the league & strengthen his position as the contender for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Brisbane Heat Predicted Playing XI:
Colin Munro, Usman Khawaja (c), Marnus Labuschagne, Sam Billings (wk), Max Bryant, Paul Walter, Michael Neser, Xavier Bartlett, Spencer Johnson, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Kuhnemann
Weather Conditions
The surface at Adelaide Oval offers a balanced surface that stays the same throughout the tournament. Since this is the first match of the season at this venue the pitch will be hard to bat on. But it’s bowlers who will get a perfect bounce on this surface. Some showers are expected with cloudy weather on the cards.
Toss to Bat
Around 41 matches off 69 played at the Oval are won by the team batting first. The team winning the toss is likely to bat first.
AS vs BH Winning Prediction
Brisbane Heat has dominated Strikers in the current times after defeating them in four out of five matches. They have begun this season with a win & will be high on confidence. Strikers also have assembled a stable squad & their batting looks formidable. But their bowling has a major drawback & we feel that Heat will dominate this contest.
