UFC fighter Alistair Overeem has recently claimed that his daughter is being brainwashed into thinking that she is a man. Overeem appeared on the Jaxxon podcast and stated that his daughter identifies herself as a man. He further said that he refuses to call her a “He.” It is evident that the Dutch fighter does not believe in gender affirmations and claims that he rejects such behavior.
The UFC veteran’s elder daughter, Storm Overeem, wants to identify herself as a man. However, Alistair clearly stated that he will not buy into this ideology. He even went on to blame social media and wokeness for this.
Overeem don’t believe in LGBTQ+ gender affirmations
Gender affirmation in the LGBTQ+ community is when a person wants to identify themselves with the gender they feel is authentic for them rather than the gender they were given at birth. It seems like Alistair’s eldest daughter is going through the same thing. However, the fighter does not believe in gender affirmations and rejects their beliefs. He will not address his daughter as a man. On the Jaxxon Podcast episode with fellow MMA fighters Rampage Jackson and Luke Rockhold, he gave his thoughts on the matter.
The fighter blamed social media for brainwashing
“The Demolition Man” said, “She is all into this woke nonsense.” Storm Overeem identifies herself as a male, a move he doesn’t support. He blamed social media for this and believes she is being brainwashed. Overeem even called it extremist leftist and said that his daughter spends too much time on her smartphone. The fighter also claimed that he will be patient and show compassion to his daughter in learning her gender affirmation.
He further explained why he will never address his daughter as a “He,” even though she identifies herself as a male. Alistair believes he is a fighter and refuses to bow to their gender claims. He claims that he will not let go of his daughter, no matter what happens.
Overeem’s last appearance in the UFC octagon was in 2021 at UFC fight night, where “The Demolition Man” faced Alexander Volkov. The fight went on for two rounds, which eventually ended with a TKO victory for Volkov. Although this was the last time fans saw Alistair appear in an MMA octagon, he did fight again in 2022, but this time in a kickboxing bout against Badr Hari. The fight ended in a no-contest.
