UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira has already fought two times this year and seems to be set for a third one. He competed twice in 120 days this year. After capturing the title from Jiri Prochazka, the Brazilian fighter faced Jamahal Hill. While many thought it would be a tough test for “Poatan,” he won by knocking out Hill in the first round.
Pereira’s second match this year was more surprising. After facing off against Hill in April, no one thought to see Alex Pereira stepping in anytime soon. However, when the UFC 303 main event that was set to be headlined by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler got canceled, Pereira stepped up. He faced Jiri Prochazka in the rematch and won via TKO in the second round. Now a recent update from Pereira suggests that he is not done for this year.
Poatan has fueled a speculation
The Brazilian has fueled speculation among fans with a recent post. He posted a screenshot of his cellphone, showing an incoming call from Dana White on the screen. “Poatan” captioned the post with, “Chama ou no chama?.” Although Pereira did not provide any further information on what the call was about, several possibilities can be considered. There are rumors about him fighting his third match this year against Magomed Ankalaev. He previously revealed that he would like to take part in a fight in November-December. However, nothing has been confirmed by the UFC yet.
Interestingly, Jake Paul also called out Pereira after his recent win over Mike Pereira. “The Problem Child” proposed a challenge for a boxing match. To surprise the fans, Pereira immediately facetimed Paul and expressed his desire to make the fight happen. Thus, a call coming from Dana White at this time is making things quite interesting. Meanwhile, there are also leaks of Alex featuring along with Jon Jones for a fight.

This is a matchup that every MMA fan wants to see to settle the G.O.A.T debate. Unfortunately, this match is not going to happen anytime soon, as both Jones and Pereira have a lot of work to do at the moment. However, if the rumors are true, fans can soon see the two fighters together on the same card.
