Aldershot Town vs Lewes: Preview
Aldershot Town form analysis
The Shots began with an impressive 2-1 away win at Boreham Wood thanks to goals from Stokes and Mnoga. They built on that by earning a 1-1 home draw with Southend, going ahead through Tolaj before Cardwell’s leveler. The Shots’ resilience showed again as they beat Dagenham 3-2 at home in their next game, overturning a deficit thanks to Harries’ penalty and goals from Stokes and Thomas. However, defensive issues resurfaced in a 1-2 home loss to Altrincham, despite Harries netting from the spot. Last time out though, Aldershot returned to winning ways with an excellent 1-0 victory away at Solihull courtesy of Tolaj’s strike.
Overall, it’s been a very promising start to the season for Aldershot as they push for an unlikely playoff spot after narrowly avoiding relegation last term. They’ve showcased their battling qualities and attacking threat, led by striker Tolaj. Aldershot could be a surprise package this season.
Lewes form analysis
Lewes began their campaign with an entertaining 2-2 home draw against Hornchurch, twice coming from behind. They were then involved in another high scoring game away at Bognor Regis, drawing 3-3 in an end to end contest. However, Lewes suffered their first loss in a 1-3 home defeat to Folkestone Invicta as defensive issues surfaced. Problems at the back continued as they were beaten 3-0 away at Chatham Town in their next match. But Lewes did return to winning ways last time out, beating Hastings United 3-1 at home thanks to goals from Nosworthy, Okenabirhie and Alao.
Overall, it’s been an up and down start to the season for Lewes as they struggle for consistency. They’ve showcased attacking threat, scoring 9 goals in their 5 games so far. But conceding 11 goals already highlights concerns at the back that must be addressed.
