On Monday, September 25, the Indian women’s cricket team made history by taking home the gold medal in the women’s T20I competition. They won by 19 runs over Sri Lanka at Hangzhou’s Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field. The squad led by Harmanpreet Kaur was the tournament favourite, and they more than lived up to the hype.
In the meantime, a photo of Smriti Mandhana and her lover Palash Muchhal striking a pose is going viral on social media. Palash posted the picture of Smriti and her gold medal on his Instagram account. He added the message, “Super Proud @smriti_mandhana,” while posting the image.
Palash is a talented young film director who has written some well-known Bollywood songs. Palash and Smriti have been romantically together for a while. The two are frequently seen hanging out together and supporting one another on social media.

Smriti, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, skippered the group in a few of the games during the Asian Games 2023 while regular captain Harmanpreet was absent from the team due to injury. Smriti made a big impression with his captaincy abilities, and she also contributed significantly to India’s victory in the championship game.
With four fours and one six, the left-handed opener scored 46 runs off 45 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues was the only batter to receive a double-digit score in addition to her. Despite Rodrigues’ outstanding inning of 42 runs off of 40 balls, including 5 fours, the club could only manage 116 runs in 20 overs.
However, India’s gifted spinner Titas Sidhu made sure to give India early victories by removing three Sri Lankan hitters for just 14 runs. They fell 19 runs short of the target because the Indian bowlers kept the line and length very tight and didn’t allow the hitters to score freely.
