AC Milan vs Juventus: Preview
AC Milan form analysis
Milan’s recent Serie A results demonstrate a team still capable of winning despite some inconsistent performances. They started this period with a disappointing 1-5 home thrashing by rivals Inter, with only Leão scoring in response. However, Milan bounced back with a determined 1-0 home win over Verona thanks to another Leão goal. An away trip to Cagliari followed and despite trailing, Milan prevailed 1-3 after goals from new signings Okafor and Loftus-Cheek. Milan then grinded out a solid 2-0 home victory over Lazio courtesy of strikes from Pulisic and Okafor. Most recently, Milan returned to winning ways with a hard fought 0-1 away win at Genoa, with Pulisic netting a late winner.
Overall, Milan have shown resolve to respond after the heavy loss to Inter. Wins over Verona, Cagliari and Genoa highlighted their determination. New coach Stefano Pioli has added talent like Okafor and Pulisic to freshen up the attack. However, greater consistency is still needed if Milan are to challenge again at the top this season. But with the likes of Leão and new arrivals finding form, Milan have the quality to bounce back strongly from the Inter setback.
Juventus form analysis
Juventus’ recent Serie A results have been inconsistent as they continue adapting to new coach Massimiliano Allegri’s ideas. They started this spell positively, beating Lazio 3-1 at home as Vlahovic netted twice. But defensive issues were apparent in their next game as they lost 4-2 away at Sassuolo, despite Chiesa temporarily equalizing. Juventus returned to winning ways with a tight 1-0 home victory over Lecce thanks to Milik’s winner. They followed that up with a gritty goalless draw away at Atalanta to earn a point. Most recently, Juventus beat local rivals Torino 2-0 at home courtesy of goals from Gatti and Milik.
Overall, it’s clear Allegri has added more attacking threat with new signings like Milik impressing alongside Vlahovic. But Juventus remain prone to occasional defensive lapses and dropping points. For Allegri, finding the right balance between attack and defence will be crucial in getting Juventus back challenging for the title. But the signs are promising. With the goals flowing, if Juventus can regain defensive solidity they can get their season back on track after recent struggles.
