Abhishek Bachchan Speaks On Rise Of Pro Kabaddi League
Abhishek disclosed that Mr. Mahindra had suggested establishing the Pro Kabaddi League in a conversation with NDTV. While Abhishek led his team to comprehend the feasibility of such a league, the information he discovered throughout the study phase astounded him.
“We used to love to talk about sports anytime I would socially meet Mr. Anand Mahindra approximately ten or eleven years ago. He is aware of my passion for cricket, football, and basketball. He said, “I know you are passionate about sports,” during one of these meetings. Would you be interested in joining this league that I am starting, the Pro Kabaddi League?” he said.

“Kabaddi, amazing; nobody was thinking about it at that time. It was my initial thought. Let me get back to you, I told him. My group and I conducted some background investigations. When I was younger, I played kabaddi, but it was quite informal. Then I witnessed a game of contemporary Kabaddi being played. In addition, I went to see a kabaddi match close to my house; it was a local competition, but 10,000 spectators turned up. The mood completely enthralled me. Why haven’t we taken this to the national level? I was wondering. It fulfilled every need for the kind of sports-related career I was looking for. I told Mr. Mahindra that I was on,” he continued.
Not only has Kabaddi’s popularity grown in terms of audience size, but player earnings have also increased dramatically. Abhishek acknowledged that a few players make more money than he does.
