Jose Aldo recently took to Instagram to post a great picture of himself hoisted on his coach’s shoulder as they celebrated his incredible comeback win at UFC 301. Aldo’s performance against Jonathan Martinez has drawn world-wide praise on social media, which includes Egyptian Ali Abdelaziz too.
Abdelaziz’s one word applaud
The MMA manager went to the comment section of Junior Mac’s post’s comment section to applaud his performance. While Abdelaziz didn’t write much, his one word was enough to acknowledge Aldo’s status as “King of Rio,” a title that the Brazilian has carried for years now.
Ali Abdelaziz’s comment said, “King.”
The Brazilian gave a vintage performance
Aldo was away from the UFC octagon for two years and finally made a return at UFC 301 against Martinez. The Brazilian looked in great shape and he was quick and technical just as before. He quickly countered his opponent’s powerful low kicks before landing his own low kicks. “Scarface” showed great calmness in the encounter and stinged “Dragon” whenever he stepped in the range. Aldo even landed his trademark kick as his opponent dipped with a level change.
The most notable moment of the bout came in round three, when Aldo landed a blow, leaving Jonathan with shaky legs. A finish looked imminent, but Jose decided to score a takedown instead, which he did smoothly and successfully. He spent the rest of the round controlling Martinez from the side to get the win via unanimous decision.
With Aldo being 37-years-old now, many MMA fans wondered if Aldo would look the same as most fighters in their late 30s. But instead, The Brazilian impressed the audience with his old skills, giving them a vintage performance.

Abdelaziz negotiated for a boxing match
Following his first retirement from the UFC, Jose Aldo decided to pursue boxing and he even secured a win and a draw in professional boxing bouts. Recently, during a pre-UFC 301 interview he had, Ali Abdelaziz was also seen negotiating on his behalf for a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. While the details of the match are still scarce, it seems that Saudi Arabia was the prospective location for the match.
