India Seals T20 Series Sweep Over Afghanistan in Dramatic Double Super Over Thriller
India edged past Afghanistan in a nail-biting second Super Over on Wednesday to complete a clean sweep of their three-match T20I series in Bengaluru. The home side had already clinched the series with victories in Mohali and Indore, but the final encounter provided a fittingly dramatic finale.
Chasing India’s imposing total of 212-4, Afghanistan battled hard and tied the scores thanks to Gulbadin Naib’s unbeaten 55. The first Super Over also ended in a tie, setting the stage for a tense second Super Over.
India managed 11 runs in their second Super Over, with Ravi Bishnoi emerging as the hero with the ball. The young spinner conceded just one run and claimed two wickets in his three-over spell, including the crucial dismissal of Naib in the final delivery to seal India’s victory.
“My heart rate was high, but we had a lot of fun,” said Bishnoi after the match. “The moment we saw two right-handers come out, I was given the ball. The idea was to bowl back of length to begin with from a little behind the crease.”
Earlier, India’s innings was rescued by a magnificent 190-run stand between Rohit Sharma (121* off 69) and Rinku Singh (69* off 39). The duo bailed India out from a precarious 22-4 after five overs and propelled them to a formidable total.

“It was a great game of cricket,” said India captain Rohit Sharma. “We were put under pressure, but we showed great character to come back. Credit to Afghanistan, they played really well.”
