Stephanie McMahon has been involved in the WWE business for over 25 years. After college, she got into the family business of being on national television, performing various segments for the company. Stephanie has been loved and hated as a heel character for years. There have been many strange instances when fans thought about what WWE was going to do and how it would be implemented. Stephanie has been a part of many bizarre and weird segments over the years that have led to many positive and negative things being associated with her name. In this article, we will have a look at some of the weirdest moments of her career.
10) Slapping The Big Show
Stephanie McMahon was feuding with other faces as well when she formed The Authority to feud with Daniel Bryan. Big Show was chosen for the storyline with Triple H and Stephanie. The storyline involved Big Show losing money due to bad investments, which Stephanie put over his head. The audience groaned during the segment that featured Stephanie slapping Big Show for repeatedly disrespecting Triple H. A huge WWE superstar getting slapped like this showed how Stephanie’s character can damage a wrestler’s credibility.
9) Fun Moment with the New Day
Stephanie McMahon was seen as an intimidating authority figure in the company over the past decade. There were some rare moments when she openly had fun instead of always being serious and a heel. Once, both Triple H and Stephanie acted out of character during their conversation with The New Day and danced with the trio of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods, having a fun moment.
8) Competing for the WWE title
Stephanie acted in various segments that entertained the WWE fans, but she did not find herself in as many matches as Shane McMahon. Inside the ring, her career was minimal, with general workmanship to hide her flaws. WWE took it too far once by making Stephanie a contender for the WWE Championship during an episode of Raw. Triple H defended his title against Chris Jericho and Stephanie in a triple-threat match. WWE fans were fearing that they might see Stephanie score the pin and become the champ.
7) Drugging Shawn Michaels
Stephanie McMahon’s first pregnancy didn’t keep her away from WWE completely. She was briefly seen backstage once to chat with Shawn Michaels before he faced Shane McMahon. “The Heartbreak Kid” trusted Stephanie and got her water at her request and she put a substance in his water. The action caused Michaels to pass out during his match against Shane and join Vince’s KMA Club for an embarrassing moment.
6) The kiss with Eric Bishchoff
The initial WWE brand split saw Eric Bishchoff and Stephanie McMahon become general managers of Raw and SmackDown. They had a rivalry that resulted in them invading each other’s shows. During that time, there was a bizarre segment backstage on SmackDown Halloween Party that featured Bishchoff appearing under a Vince McMahon mask to approach Stephanie. The segment became weirder when Bischoff removed his mask and started kissing Stephanie. The scene became strange when Stephanie began to kiss him back because they never had another romantic moment.
5) The Hot Lesbian Action
WWE came up with a unique way to pay off the Eric Bischoff vs. Stephanie McMahon feud by involving other wrestlers. When 3-Minute Warning represented RAW in a victory over Billy & Chuck on SmackDown, Bischoff won a demand and as a result, Stephanie was forced to participate in the “HLA” segment of “Hot Lesbian Action.” The idea was cringeworthy in itself, but WWE made it even more weird by adding another twist. Stephanie hooked up with a huge person, who was later revealed to be Rikishi, set up to attack Bischoff.
4) The Dream Segment
The company decided to bring in a strange comedy segment about the McMahon family that had no context before or since. Vince McMahon woke up from a coma, with WWE actor Freddy Prinze Jr. becoming his doctor. The joke was that Vince went into a coma as a result of wasting millions of dollars on Linda McMahon’s failed political campaign. This entire segment unfolded as a dream when Stephanie woke up next to Triple H, happy that Vince was still in a coma.
3) Intimate moment with John Cena
Stephanie turned face as SmackDown General Manager. Seeing her this image was a little strange for the fans. She eventually won them over by interacting with the face characters to prove that she has changed from her heel side. A unique way to get audience support was by Steph sharing an intimate moment with John Cena during his rapping gimmick. Stephanie followed Cena’s rap by asking him to smack her on the back like he said in his rap, even though it made no sense.
2) “I Quit” Match against Vince
Stephanie’s SmackDown General Manager run ended due to the stipulation of her feud with Vince McMahon. Vince and Stephanie usually had a very close storyline in WWE, but this was a rare sight to see a feud between them. Vince was trying to have another run as a ruthless heel and Stephanie stood in front of him as the General Manager. The two fought in an “I Quit” match that saw bizarre scenes of Vince choking Steph with a lead pipe. Stephanie lost the match and her GM position due to Linda quitting on her behalf and Paul Heyman taking her place as the new manager.
1) Kissing Vince in backstage segments
During the 2000s, Stephanie and Triple H were doing a great job at being Heels, but Vince created even more hatred towards the act by joining them and turning on The Rock at WrestleMania. The strangest aspect of this segment was Vince kissing Stephanie on her lips. WWE did these segments to gain some heat and continued them for about a month, but instead they made everyone awkward. This just ended in something very bizarre, more than anything else.
